Q: How do you sue a district court for violating your rights and how do you find an attorney to handle this at no expense? I was unable to see my kids for 8 months due to an incompetant judge, and an attorney that didn't really do his work for me either.
show answer...A: close answer...You cannot sue the judge but you can campaign against him next time he runs for office. As for the lawyer, you can call the Board of Professional Responsibility or sue him for malpractice. However, a bad result doesn’t necessarily mean the judge was incompetent or that the attorney committed malpractice – it more likely means the judge disagreed with you and your lawyer couldn’t overcome that.
